Phil Garling AM, B.Build (NSW), FAICD, FAIB, FIEAust was appointed to the Board of WSG as independent Chairman in July 2023.

Phil’s executive career included senior roles in construction, infrastructure and funds management with Lend Lease and AMP Capital. He has over 20 years’ experience as a non-executive director and Chair in the ASX, private, government and not for profit sectors.

Matt has been with WSG as CEO since February 2017 and a Director since May 2018, and has overseen the execution of the Group’s strategy, resulting in WSG now being one of Australia’s leading waste management and resource recovery businesses.

Matt has over 25 years experience in complex logistics and industrial businesses and prior to joining WSG worked with companies such as Toll Holdings, Asciano Ltd, McAleese Ltd and AWH across diverse industry segments including ports, rail, road transport, warehousing, aviation services and manufacturing.

Oliver has been a Non-Executive Director of WSG since January 2022.

Oliver joined Livingbridge in the UK in 2014. He moved to Australia in 2017 and has been involved in all of their investments in the region. Prior to Livingbridge, Oliver worked in M&A. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant.

Dean joined the WSG Board in April 2024 and has over 25 years’ experience in the transport, manufacturing, engineering, energy and resources sectors both domestically and overseas.

Dean has held senior executive and leadership positions including Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of MaxiPARTS Limited, Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director of Weir Group PLC and CEO UGL Rail, and more recently a number of non-executive director roles with ASX listed companies.

Steve is WSG’s Group CFO with responsibility for a broad range of financial, commercial and information and data deliverables for the Group.

Steve has extensive senior executive experience in operational and functional leadership roles, including areas as diverse as multisite manufacturing and industrial services operations, engineering, finance and shared services and sales and marketing. He has a strong track record in growing businesses through setting and delivery strategy, building and leading teams and stakeholder management. Prior to joining WSG, Steve held numerous roles within Fenner Dunlop, a Michelin company, including Director, COO and CFO and has also held senior roles within Alcoa and AGL.
